Mr. Connie Dwayne King

     Connie Dwayne King, 64, passed away peacefully Thursday, August 31, 2023, at his home.

     Connie was preceded in death by his mother Louise Goodwin, his sister Rebecca Barnett, brother-in-law Curtis Ricks, and sister-in-law Annette King.

     He was a loving husband to Stephanie “Jean” King of Lumberton, NC. He loved Jean and her selflessness throughout their relationship, especially during his battle with ALS. Through God’s grace, Jean’s dutiful service and loving support from relatives and friends, Connie lived and loved beyond the doctor’s grim prognosis.

    He was the loving & devoted father of Brandon (Nikema) Seay of Glen Burnie, MD; Jada (Ladell) Green of Elizabeth City, NC; Tyana Powell of Hickory, NC; stepfather of Lashawnda Skipper of Lumberton, NC; Jack (Jeri) Skipper of Stone Mountain, GA; and Kendrick (Tameka) Skipper of Greensboro, NC. He was the grandfather to nine children that he truly adored and loved unconditionally.

   He also leaves the following relatives to cherish his memory: two sisters Mary (Curtis) Ricks of Muscle Shoals, AL and Barbara Goodwin of Leighton, AL; two brothers Willie (Annette) King of Elgin, IL and Thomas King of Kenosha, WS; one brother-in-law Larry (Rebecca) Barnett of Leighton, AL; and a host of family and friends that laughed, smiled, and loved him his entire life.

   He was a selfless man who served his country for 10 years as a serviceman in the United States Army. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and watching his favorite college and professional football teams: Alabama Crimson Tide and Carolina Panthers.

   Connie King will truly be missed, but he’s resting now in the Kingdom of Heaven with Almighty God and our savior, Jesus Christ.
