Artis William Addison known as “Mickey” to family and friends was born in Robeson County NC to James and Javene Addison who preceded him in death. Mickey was called to Eternal Rest on Wednesday Nov 6th, 2024 at UNC Chapel Hill, NC.
Mickey attended the Fairmont Public School Systems of Robeson County. He later joined the United States Army and served 6yrs dedicated services to his country. At the end of his military career, he received an honorable discharge. Mickey went on to work for the Town of Fairmont for many years with the Public Works Department and later with Southern Road Builders which he retired from as a heavy machine operator.
Mickey was an avid sports fan with his favorite team being Dallas Cowboys. Mickey was a dedicated father and active member in the community. Mickey enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed most sitting around talking, laughing, and listening to music. Anyone needing a helping hand could always depend on Mickey to help out any way that he could.
Mickey is survived by his wife Debra Addison and their 13 children 9 boys: Artis “Skip” Addison and Timothy Addison (both of Charlotte), Mickey “Spellain” Addison (Hope Mills), Robin Addison (Hope Mills), Brant Addison (Matthews), Kelvin Addison (Lumberton), Elijawan “Jawan” Addison (Richmond VA), Jerokendallas “Dallas” Addison (Stafford VA), and Jerokindelas “Delas” Addison (High Point)4 girls: Dedrain “Dee” Addison (Raeford), Wavevialee Addison (Fairmont), Artismakial Addison (Parkton), and Ivorie Addison (Fayetteville), 26 Grand Children and 6 great grandchildren. 4 sisters Carolyn “Peat” Moore, Jacquelyn “Von” McCrimmon, Wanda “Duck” Addison, all of Fairmont NC and Cheryl “Sharon” Locklear (Tim) of Raleigh NC. Two aunts Sally Lidge and Edna Lidge of Dillion SC and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends who loved him dearly.
