Mr. Algie Vance Jones Sr.

     Deacon Algie Vance Jones Sr. was born in Fairmont, NC on January 13, 1942 to Willie and Arnetha Jones. He departed this life on June 12, 2023 in Marion County.

     He attended the Public Schools of Robeson County. He was drafted in the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam War. After serving in the Army, he began working with the United States Postal Service, and worked there for thirty years. His passion was air-conditioning and refrigeration. He is well known for having a consignment shop in Newark, NJ and In Fairmont, NC.

     He leaves to cherish his loving memories to his wife Kay Frances Jordan Jones of Marion, SC; two daughters, Katrese Simone Jones (Donald), Chastity Jones (Mike) of Marion, SC; son, Algie Vance Jones Jr. (Jewell) of Norfolk, VA; three bonus sons, Darius Jones, Taj Jones and Nizohn Powell, eight grandchildren, Nigoel Jones (Poat), Tanija Jones, Syorra Bellamy, Giovani Powell, Za’Yair Jones of South Carolina, Kymani Jones, Jeremiah Jones and Jania Jones of Norfolk, VA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
