Minister Gary Lynn Stocks

    Minister Gary Lynn Stocks also known to many people as Jerry was born on December 30, 1953 in Lumberton, NC. He departed this earthly life on October 27, 2021 at UNC Health-Southeastern in Lumberton, NC.

     He attended J.H. Haywood School and Littlefield School. He worked on the farm for many years before changing his occupation and becoming a sanitation driver for 31 years until he retired in August 2013. He accepted Christ into his life in October 1982. He was loved by all who knew him. His love, smile, and kindness will be greatly missed.

     He was preceded in death by his parents Mr. Haywood and Mrs. Lizzie Stocks, two sisters, Macy Purdie and Addie Mae McDonald, four brothers, Leander Haywood Jr., John (CQ), and David Stocks, father-in-law, Rudolph McDougald, son-in-law, Gene Pittman (Jaz) five brother-in-laws, John McDonald, Robert Whitted, David Lee Smith, Hampton Purdie and Robert McDonald, two sister-in-laws, Brenda McDougald and Queen Stocks.

     He leaves to cherish his memories to, his wife of 49 years, Jeanette Stocks of the home, a daughter Elizabeth Stocks, and three sons, Chris Stocks (Jacquell), Jerry Stocks (Yolanda), and Gary Stocks all of Lumberton, NC; his mother-in-law, Ida Frances McDougald, seven grandchildren, Marquel, Trooper Stien Davis Jr., Trevon,    Brandy, Quintella, Carmon, and Kadesia all of Lumberton, NC; five great-grandchildren, Bralie, Avah, Dynasti,   Zariyah, and Aubree all of Lumberton, NC; six sisters, Maggie Bell Smith, Minister Ann Whitted, Shirley McDonald,    Patricia McIver (Thorton), Susan McNeil (Randy) and Julia Faye Stocks of Lumberton, NC, three sister-in-laws, Louise Stocks, Lorraine Stocks of Washington, DC, and Ann Regan of Pittsboro, NC, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
