It' with sadness and heartfelt sorrow we officially announce the transition of Master Trooper Stien Davis Jr. 30 of Lumberton. Our American Hero transitioned from time to eternal rest on February 22, 2026.
Master Trooper Stien Davis Jr., was born on May 31, 1995 in Lumberton, North Carolina. He was born to Elizabeth A. Stocks and the late Stien Davis Sr. He departed this earthly life on February 22, 2026 at UNC Health Southeastern in Lumberton, North Carolina.
At an early age he confessed to Christ and joined McCormick Chapel Church in Lumberton, North Carolina. Stien attended the Public Schools of Robeson County and graduated from Lumberton Senior High School. He furthered his education at the 141st Basic Patrol School in Cary, North Carolina.
A man of unwavering discipline and profound love, Stien’s life was a testament to the power of hard work and the strength of family.
From a young age, Stien set his sights on a life of service. He dedicated himself to the rigorous path of becoming a North Carolina State Trooper, a journey that began with his proud graduation from the 141st Basic Patrol School. Over more than a decade of dedicated service with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, he rose to the rank of Master Trooper. This achievement was the result of sheer perseverance and a deep-seated desire to protect his community.
To those who wore the badge alongside him, he was known for his professionalism and his courage. Stien was well-loved in the community and truly loved his job. He took immense pride in his work and well-known for his unwavering commitment to keeping the streets safe.
While he took great pride in his uniform, his greatest role was that of a father. Stien was a legendary dad to his son, Stien Davis III, working tirelessly to build a bright future for him.
Above all, Stien was a “mother’s son.” He never forgot the sacrifices his mother made, and he made it his lifelong mission to care for her with the same tenderness she had shown him. His love for her was the foundation of the man he became.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, George and Parrie Davis Hayes, his maternal grandfather, Minister Gary Stocks, his stepfather, Gene Pittman AKA Jaz, his Aunt, Sarah Jane McCormick and his uncle, Devon McCormick.
He is survived by his son, Stien Davis III, fiancé Chiara Strickland of Cerro Gorda, NC; his beloved mother, Elizabeth Stocks, and his brothers and sisters in the NC State Highway Patrol. He is also survived by his two sisters, Quintella Davis, Kadesia Davis and one brother, Trevon Davis in Lumberton, NC; his grandmother, Jeanette McDougald-Stocks of Lumberton, NC, his great grandmother, Ida Frances McDougald of Rowland, NC, One aunt, Blanchie Smith (Malan) of Lillington, NC; four uncles, Christopher Stocks (Jacquell), Jerry Stocks (Yolanda), Gary Stocks, and Jerry McCormick. His favorite cousins Marquel Stocks, Antwon McCormick, Keraun McCormick, his favorite barber, Javonte Johnson, his godmother, Gloria McCormick, godfather, Johnny Pipkin and two future brother-in-law's, Tommy Gillespie and Laquan King and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
