Evangelist Marilyn T. McKinnon was born on November 8, 1959 to the late James Wesley Smalls and Mrs. Iula Thompson and reared by Mr. & Mrs. Hartford and Maggie McDowel. She departed this earthly life at Southeastern Regional Medical center June 3, 2018.
Evangelist Marilyn attended the Public Schools of Robeson County and worked at Kayser Roth Corporation one year. She attended Smith Chapel Bible Church of God for 36 years.
She was a Sunday school teacher to the small children and have a passion for the elderly. She became an ordained minister in 1996 and enjoyed visiting the elderly, children, and the sick and needy. She enjoyed working in her flowers, and cleaning her home. She loved her cats.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Joyce Thompson.
She leaves to cherish her memories to her husband, Ray Charles McKinnon, one daughter, Brittany Johnson, one grandson, Malcolm Johnson, one brother, Rev. Paul McDowell, (Ruthy), aunts and uncles, Mr. & Mrs. Alford Burden (Mildred), Ms. Hollie Thompson, Ms. Jackqueline Thompson, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and other friends.
