Deaconess Annette B. Campbell, age 70, of
Lumberton, passed away peacefully surrounded by
her family at the Hospice House in Lumberton on
February 27, 2021. She was born the daughter of
the late John and Louise Billings on April 27, 1950 in
Dillon County. She married Deacon Tony Campbell
on April 30, 1972, he survives her. God blessed this
union with two children Eric and Denise Campbell.
Annette had served as a long time usher within
Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Proctorville,
NC. She also served as a chair person for the deaconess
board. She was passionate about spending time with
her family, about traveling, gardening, sewing and
being a pillar in her church community.
Annette is survived by her husband of 48 years,
Deacon Tony Campbell, her children; Eric “Tito”
(Jennifer) Campbell of Lutz, Florida; Denise (Don)
Campbell of Parkton, North Carolina. Her brothers;
John (Laforest) Billings, Bobby Billings, Memory
Billings, Dan Billings, Anthony Billings and the late
Al Billings. Her sisters; Patricia Billings, Willey Mae
(Bobby) Cook, Tillie Lee Ware. Also surviving are
her grandchildren Tylek (Deanna) Campbell, Ashley
Campbell, ShuKuri and Harmony Campbell, Kayla
Burns, Eric Campbell Jr, Ariana Burns and 7 great
grandchildren. Also one uncle Howard (Henrietta)
McClean. Mother-in-law Viola Campbell. Kenny
(Gwendolyn) Campbell; Billy (Cordie) Campbell;
Tommy (Melody) Campbell; Bruce (Claudia) Campbell;
James (Staffioney) Campbell; Clifton Campbell and
Kim Campbell; and a host of nieces and nephews,
other relatives and numerous very close friends.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March
4, 2021 at 11am at New Beginning Missionary Baptist
Church with Pastor Dr. Paul McDowell officiating.
Burial will follow in the Meadowbrook Cemetery in
Lumberton.
