Ms. Flora McMillan

     Ms. Flora McMillan, 100, of Fairmont, North Carolina, passed away on December 14, 2018.

     Mother Flora McMillan was born on August 9, 1918. She was called from labor to reward on December 14, 2018 within the comforts of her home. Miss Flo, as she was affectionately called, by many who were blessed to share the life of this amazing lady. She possessed the kind of loving spirit to be able to chastise and console at the same time. Her love for her children, grandchildren as well as children in general, were her kryptonite. She would give her last just to ensure the children didn’t go without. But her love for God overshadowed all else.  God truly honored her with longevity as a result of her unwavering love.

     She was a true confidante to many people, a mother to others, and a friend to all. Miss Flo was married to the late T.S. McMillan for 41 years. To this blessed union 12 children were born.

     She was preceded in death by 3 daughters and 2 sons, Clementine, Ann,  Marilyn, Burdell, and a infant son.

     She leaves to cherish her memories, (5) daughters, and (3) sons, Katherine Townsend (David), Shirley Singletary, Linda Arnette (Daniel) all of Fairmont, NC, Virginia McMillan, Mary Nealey, both of Lumberton, NC, John McMillan of Fairmont, NC, Jerry McMillan (Dorothy) of Rowland, NC, Ervin McMillan (Tabitha) of Lumberton, NC, 22 grandchildren, 32 great grands, and 24 great- great grands. A host of nieces, nephews relatives and  friends. Several neighborhood friends that loved her like a mom and one special friend, Barbara Jacobs.
