Ms. Euris Jones, 89 of Fairmont passed away Sunday April 29, 2018.
Euris Jones was born to the late Willie T. and Maude Jones on November 13, 1928. She entered into eternal rest on April 29, 2018, at home with her loving family. She was one of eight children born of this union. Her brothers and sisters preceded her in death, with the exception of Leroy Jones, of Glen Flora Nursing facility in Lumberton, NC.
She attended John Lewis Elementary then transferred to Rosenwald High School where she graduated in 1944. She furthered her education at Robeson Community College where she obtained her degree in Cosmetology. She also ran for Robeson County Commissioner where her motto was “I’ll be yours, if you'll be mine”. She was a member of First Baptist Church Fairmont, NC where she was a part of the Nurses Aides Ministry and served faithfully until her health began to decline.
Euris married the late Clarence Jones Sr. Upon this union, thirteen children were born. She was preceded in death by her three oldest children, (Clinton, Victor, Clementine).
She leaves to cherish her memory, ten children, William (Sandra), Hilda (Ted), Attelia (Silvester), Mary, Doris (Richard), Deborah, Stevie, Shelia (Ricky), Clarence (Tammy), Glenda (Ronald); one brother, Leroy; 30 grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends. She was known as "The Old Field Grandmother," for many children in the Old Field Community.
