Ms. Dorothy Moore Addison

      Ms. Dorothy Moore Addison 77 of Fairmont N.C. passed away on Friday February 23, 2018 at Southeastern Health in Lumberton.

      On October 18, 1940 God allowed the union of Fitzugh and Elizabeth Mae Moore to be blessed with a daughter, Dorothy, who took her position as the fourth in the family of 11 siblings. 

      Dorothy Mae Moore Addison, a true gift from God. She departed her earthly life on Friday, February 23, 2018 with her sisters and brother in law by her side at the hospital during her final moments. 

      She was educated at Rosenwald High School in Fairmont, NC. She later moved to Brooklyn, NY where she lived most of her life before returning to Fairmont, NC in 2011 where she lived the remainder of her life in the care of her sisters, brother, and brother in law. 

     She was preceded in death by her husband, Valentin Addison; one daughter, Carol; her parents Fitzugh and Elizabeth Emanuel Moore; her siblings, Grace John, Eugene, Francis and Sterling; and one grandson, Terry Jr. 

     She leaves to cherish her loving memories,daughters: Charmaine, Ebony, and Monique Jones of Brooklyn, NY and Shahara Jones of Philadelphia, PA, and a son Earl Jones of Brooklyn, NY. Grandchildren: Jada, Makaila, Sha’Mel, Taliyah, Nashawn, Isaiah, Kimora, Madison, Moryah.  She also raised a special niece Uvelia (Vib) Moore. Four sisters, Brenda Washington, Maggie Washington (Ricky), Linda Floyd (Walter) and Glenda Dillahunt all of Fairmont, NC. One brother:  Wallace Moore of Fairmont, NC. She had two best friends, Faye and Betty of Brooklyn, NY who will truly miss her.
