Mrs. Annie Mae Buie, born June 10, 1925 to the late Thomas and Jessie Lee Rogers-Townsend in Clio, SC. She departed her earthly life on Friday, July 27, 2018 at Glenflora in Lumberton,NC.
At the age of 13, Annie Mae and her family relocated to Rowland, NC; she joined Aaron Swamp Baptist Church where she accepted Christ at an early age. She graduated from Southside High School of Rowland, NC. Early on in life, Annie Mae had to work harder than her siblings by becoming a seamstress to provide for her family. During the seasonal period she worked in the tobacco plant & fields.
Annie Mae was dedicated to her family (especially to the grands and great-grands). If there is only one lesson she made sure was taught was to take care of your family.
At the age of 29, Annie married the late Tom Buie and from this union 4 children were born.
Annie Mae was preceded in death by both parents, 2 brothers Thomas Townsend Jr. (TJ) and Lawrence Townsend and one grandson, Jeremy Devon Campbell.
Annie Mae leaves to cherish memories, three daughters, Deborah Ann (Joey Spencer, fiance’) Buie-Wiggins of Raleigh, NC; Annie Ruth Campbell of the home; Gwendolyn Rose (Rochelle) Taylor of Greenville, NC; one son, Jesse Levon Buie of Charlotte, NC; 9 grandchildren, Henderick (Dennis) Watson-Oxendine of Oxford, NC; Jeremiah (Ebony) Campbell Jr of the home; Jamaica A. Campbell of the home; Jesse Levon “LJ” (Lashon) Buie Jr. of Salisbury, NC; Bianca (Will) Thomas of Charlotte, NC; Carlyle D. Wiggins of Raleigh, NC; Montrel O. Taylor of Greenville, NC; Alexis[HW1] Andrews of Durham, NC; Crystal O. Townsend of Durham, NC; 4 special granddaughters, Karen Tyrance of Fayetteville, NC; Tiffany McIver of the home; Sherry Todd of Raleigh, NC; Mericul Moore of Raleigh NC; 22 great grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Lenora Townsend of Fairmont, NC; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
