Mrs. Arlene Smith Grissett, daughter of Mary Mitchell and Dan Smith, was born in Robeson County on August 22, 1967. She gained her wings and departed this life on Thursday August 9, 2018.
Arlene received her education in the Robeson County School System graduating from South Robeson High School in 1985. At an early age, she gave her life to Christ and joined Mt. Pelier Baptist Church and later moved her membership to Unionville Missionary Baptist Church, where she served on the usher ministry.
Arlene worked for thirty years at Kayser-Roth Corporation. She was joined in marriage to Harry Lee Grissett in October 2009. She loved shopping and enjoyed spending time with her family.
Those left to cherish her memories are her loving husband, Harry Lee Grissett, four sons, Aljaquan Nixon, James Nixon, Sherwood Nixon, Charles Grissett (Dee), daughter, Angela Stone (Rodney); five grandchildren, Aaliyah Howard, Aiden Howard, Kylan Stone, Demetrius Michael Grissett, Charles Grissett Jr; goddaughter, Cariyah Scippio; mother, Mary Mitchell, father, Dan Smith; grandmother, Margaret Mitchell; four sisters Annie Smith, Danyelle Smith, Regina Mitchell, Laveka Carey; two brothers, Franklin Smith, Robert Mitchell; five sisters-in-law, Rose Bellamy (Alonzo), Blanche Billings, Darnerker Ford, Pearl Pittman, Annette Smith (Eugene); three brothers-in-law, Eugene Grissett (Joann), Herman Grissett (Linda), Robert Grissett (Julie) and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
