Mr. Micah L. Richardson

Mr. Micah Richardson Tribute

       Mr. Micah L. Richardson 67 of Lumberton transitioned to eternal rest on April 19, 2018 at his residence.

       Micah Lee James Richardson , the son of Isiah and the late Geneva McKoy Richardson was born on December 27, 1950 in Bladen County. He was united in marriage to Ollie Grant on September 10, 1983. Micah confessed Christ at an early age in Lumberton, NC at First Born Church of the Living God under the leadership of Elder George Cromartie, now Dr. Syvalla Washington. 

       Micah was  a lover of music. At an early age he was gifted in singing and beating the bass drum. (and  oh boy could he beat it). His service for the church was ushering, singing and leading songs on the outreach choir which he loved and was so dedicated.

      Micah was a kind and loving person to all that knew him. He loved to laugh and joke around. Mike was a gentle soul that loved his family and friends.

     Micah served in the US Army and was honorably discharged in October, 1979. Micah received the Army Commendation  Medal on October 31, 1977. Micah also served in the Army Reserve.

     Micah was a faithful employee at The Winn Dixie Franchise and later he was employed at Bo’s Supermarket and Fresh Food until he retired. He graduated from South Lumberton High School in 1970.

    He was proceeded in death by his mother, Geneva McKoy Richardson, two Brothers, Wayne Thomas and Victor Odell Richardson, one step brother, Clarence McKoy, two sister-in-laws, Essie Richardson and Nezzie Grant and one brother-in-law, Clarence Grant.

    He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 38 years, Ollie Grant Richardson, his father, Isaiah (Katherine) Richardson of Dublin, NC; one sister, Paula (Michael) Thomas of Lumberton, NC; two step brothers, Derick Lewis and Chistian Wilson of Brooklyn, NY; five step sisters, Vernell Campbell of Brooklyn, NY, Patricia Davis of Queens, NY; Phyllis Brown of Long Island, NY; and Yvonne Johnson (Kevin) and Lateesha Wilson both of Brooklyn, NY; three sister-in-laws, Rosyln Richardson, Maggie Grant and Mary Grant, two brother-in-laws, Robert Grant and Elmo Washington and a host of nieces, nephews family and friends.
