Mr. Marvis Timmon Moody of the Happy Hill Community was born on August 11, 1945 in Robeson County, NC. He was one of ten children born to the late Duckery and Frances Walters Moody. He entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at the Mecklenburg Health and Rehabilitation Center in Charlotte, NC.
Timmon was raised and grew up on Happy Hill in Fairmont, N.C. He attended St. John AME Church of Fairmont, N.C. and educated in the Robeson County School system. He was a mechanic and loved to work on cars. Timmon was a fun loving person, who loved to laugh.
After leaving Fairmont he lived in Boston, New Jersey and finally settled in Virginia, where he lived and worked for many years. In his later years and as his health declined he returned to his home on Happy Hill. His final days were spent in Charlotte, N.C. with his family.
Timmon was preceded in death by his parents, Four brothers, Waddel, Walter, Max, and Perry, Five sisters, Ossie Mae Nance, Helen Watson, Lela Ratley, Shirley Jenkins and Florence Ratlley
He leaves to cherish his loving memory, Four Sons, Marvis Moody, Demetrius Southern, Phil Baldwin and Jerome Southern, Four Daughters, Julia L Whetstone, Monica Baldwin Carter, Tara Baldwin and Beulahmae Moody, A cherished family member, Mr. Linwood Stephens, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
