Mr. James Bullard, 66, of Lumberton, transitioned from time to eternal peace on Thursday, February 14, 2019 at Southeastern Health.
James was born in Chesterfield, South Carolina on October 16, 1952 to the late James and Edith Bullard.
James graduated from Lumberton Senior High in 1972. He played sports and the trumpet from middle school to high school. He worked at West Point Pepperell for twenty-eight years and the Robeson County Detention Center for sixteen years. He loved to sing on the E.B. Turner Choir, Sanctuary Choir and Men’s Choir. James loved to sing solos as well. He was a member of the Trustee Board at First Baptist Church in Lumberton. James rarely met a stranger. He was an excellent father, grandfather, brother, and friend to all that he met.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Edith A. Bullard, father James W. Bullard, and grandmother, Hannah Powe.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories his loving wife, Sheila Bullard of the home, one son, Carey (Shannon) Bullard of Florence, SC, two stepsons, John McMillan of Raleigh, NC and Orsby (Christie) McMillan of Franklinton, NC, two grandchildren, Xavier Bullard and Cameron Bullard of Florence, SC, three sisters, Shirley Bullard, Peggy Bullard, and Rosalind Bullard all of Georgia, two brothers, Ricky Bullard of California, and Clifford Bullard of High Point NC, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
