Mr. Billy Ray McCollum was born on July 6, 1961 to Ella Rose Peterson and the Late Johnny Roseman Howell. He confessed Christ as his Lord and Savior before departing his earthly life on May 20, 2018.
He attended the Public Schools of Robeson County. Billy Ray worked at Converse and Gerber Childrens Wear for several years in the 90’s. He moved to Boston where he lived for many years before returning to NC. Billy Ray liked to have fun and was a good friend to many but some may not agree because he spoke his mind. He loved life and was a very outgoing person. He was a good grandfather and adored his granddaughter and family. Billy Ray was a good cook and loved cooking and could cook some of the best pound cakes. In his younger years he loved to play basketball.
He was preceded in death by one son, Kendrick Alford, three brothers Lavern McCollum, Richard Earl McCollum and Jerry McCollum and one sister, Carolyn Sinclair.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his mother, Ella Rose Peterson, one granddaughter, Deleahia Alford, one brother, five sisters, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews cousins and other relatives and friends.
