“Then I heard a voice from heaven say, “Write this: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on. Yes, says the Spirit, they will rest from their labor, for their deeds will follow them.” Revelations 14:13
Mrs. Mary Ethel Love, the daughter of the late Mr. Jack Cooper and Mrs. Luetta Crawford Hill was born August 13, 1928 in Fairmont NC. On Tuesday morning, July 3, Mary peacefully went home to be with the Lord and reunited with her beloved husband. They are together again!
Mary received her formal education at Rosenwald High School. Later on in life, Mary would meet and marry Harrison her beloved husband for over 65 years. To this union five children were born.
Mary will be remembered as a hardworking, unselfish, nurturing mother, aunt and friend. Much of her employment consisted of seasonal farm labor and domestic housekeeping. While helping to provide for her family she always encouraged her children to work hard, to go after their personal goals and to serve God no matter how busy their lives were.
Mary served on the usher board for many years and enjoyed attending Sunday school. She modeled greatness through humble service. She was faithful in attendance to her home church until her decline in health.
Mary’s hobbies included working in her yard and garden. She loved growing vegetables, pretty flowers and trees with her favorite being azaleas and dogwood trees. She truly had a green thumb. Along with these interests, Mary enjoyed cooking for family gatherings and going on family road trips. Her children loved her sweet potato pies and they were a hit during the holiday season. She deeply loved her children, and her grandchildren and great grands were her pride and joy. Her quick wit and homespun wisdom will always be remembered by those who love her.
