Mr. John Russell Bryant was born on February 4, 1960 in Lumberton, North Carolina. His parents were Mr. Robert L. Bryant Sr. and Ms. Mamie Lacey Bryant. He was the 6th child of eleven children. He departed this life on August 7, 2019 after a lengthy illness.
John was an avid sportsman. He loved to play football and baseball dearly. John graduated from Lumberton High School and was a fun loving person. His presence greeted people in love and humbleness. His greatest accomplishment he always said was his precious daughter Crystal. He loved his daughter and always provided whatever she needed and assisted in reaching her goals as a proud father. His second greatest love was his granddaughter Abby. John will be missed by not only his family but those whom he knew in his community. He was preceded in death by; His father, Robert L Bryant Sr., his mother, Mamie Lacey Bryant, his brother Grover L. Bryant and his nephew, Corey Rogers. He leaves to cherish his memories; His daughter, Crystal Irene Pope, Fort Mill, SC, his granddaughter Abby Ayanna Pope, Fort Mill, SC his brothers; Robert Bryant, Jr. (Jean) of Fairmont, NC, Donald Earl Bryant (Sonya) of Las Vegas, Nevada, Gary E. We rest in the fact that John loved God and trusted Him and new him as his personal saviour. He truly manifested the scripture “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith; henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day; and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. 2 Timothy 4:7-8
