Mrs. Miriam Maxine Samuel, 72 of Fairmont transitioned into eternal rest on Saturday, May 6, 2017.
Mrs. Miriam Maxine Samuel the daughter of Anna M. and the late Rev. Napoleon Worley was born July 12, 1944 on the outskirts of Fairmont, N.C.
She attended Rosenwald High School, Robeson Community College, and Bladen Technical College. She was employed at Southeastern Regional Medical Center, and after retirement she was employed by the Robeson County Public Library. She joined First Baptist Church and was a faithful member until her health declined. She joined the Nurses Aid Ministry, which she loved dearly, and later served as president.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her loving husband, Jeremiah Samuel of the home, one daughter, Reshetta McCall of Lumberton, NC; four grandsons, Derrick and Donald McCall of Lumberton, NC; T.I. and Derrick Gavin of St. Petersburg, FL; her mother, Anna M. Worley of Fairmont, NC; one sister, Sharon Worley of Fairmont, NC; five brothers, Nathaniel Worley (Gwen) of Roselle, NJ; Anthony Worley (Stephanie) of Fairmont, NC; Rev. Ricky Worley (Bertha) and Rev. Robert Young (Rose), both of Lumberton, NC; Sylvester Young (Dara) of Baltimore, MD; and Lee Otis Young (Amy) of El Paso Texas; four aunts, Ethel L. Worley, Linda Thompson (Ernest), and Alease Bullard all of Fairmont, NC; and Elizabeth Fells of Arlington, VA; one uncle, Fred T. Worley of The Bronx, NY; sisters-in-law, Mary and Lizzie Samuel, brother-in-law, Joseph Samuel, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
