Mr. Robert Lee Jones

      Mr. Robert Lee Jones 78 of Fairmont transitioned into eternal rest on April 11, 2017 at Southeastern Health.

     Robert L. Jones son of the late Monroe Jones and Annie Thompson Jones was born on May 25, 1938. He departed this life on April 11, 2017 at Southeastern Health in Lumberton, NC.

     Robert was employed by the Town of Fairmont for thirty years until he retired. He was a loyal employee during that time. He was a man of very few words until he got to know you. He enjoyed fishing and sitting around on his porch with friends, laughing and telling jokes.

     He was preceded in death by three brothers, Woodrow Jones, R.C. Jones and Jimmy Jones, four sisters, Havanna Walters, Mary Stephens, Helen Stamps, and Clara Jones.

     He leaves to cherish his memories, a loving and devoted wife of twenty-seven years, Esma Ruth Pittman Jones of Fairmont, NC; one son, Billy Mitchell of Fairmont, NC; one daughter, Jacqueline Mitchell of Fairmont, NC; five step-children, Derrie Pittman of Fairmont, NC; Bernard Pittman (Coronda) of Fayetteville, NC; Richard (Fu) Pittman of NY; Yvette Williams of Fayetteville; and Troy Bobian of NY; one sister, Ernestine Wright of Fairmont, NC; four sister-in-law's, and two brother-in-law's, three grandchildren, one great grand child and eleven step-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
