Mr. James I. Jenkins

     Mr. James I. Jenkins passed away Thursday Aug. 4, 2016 at Southeastern Hospice House in Lumberton.

     Mr. James Isaac Jenkins better known as “Ike” and “J.J.” the son of the late Joe and Annie Bell   Jenkins born April 6, 1942. He departed this life on Thursday August 4, 2016 at Southeastern Hospice House in Lumberton, NC after an extended battle with cancer.

     He attended Robeson Community College and graduated in the trade program. He worked at Alamac American Knits, Natural Gas Company and Fire Stone Tire for many years until his health failed.

     Mr. Jenkins was preceded in death by three brothers, Willie Jenkins, Luther Jenkins, and John Henry Jenkins, three sisters, Christine Fields, Annie Mae McQueen, and Minnie Williams.

     He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife,   Gearlean Jenkins, three sons, Reginald Walker (Tammy) and Ricky Grissett (Shadonna) both of Fairmont, NC and Jonathan Grissett (Christel) of Charlotte, NC; five daughters, Beverly Abron   Howell (James) and Paulette Mclean both of Fairmont, NC; Amelia Grissett and Felicia Grissett both of Lumberton, NC; and Stephanie Grissett of the home, one sister, Ernestine Lewis of Marietta, NC; one brother, William “Bank” Hayes (Nettie Ruth) of Fairmont, NC; one sister-in-law, Mary Alice Jenkins of Marietta, NC; seventeen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
